Valley of Flowers National Park is an Indian national park, located in West Himalaya, in the state of

Uttarakhand and is known for its meadows of endemic alpine flowers and the variety of flora. This

richly diverse area is also home to rare and endangered animals, including the Asiatic black bear,

snow leopard, musk deer, brown bear, red fox, and blue sheep. Birds found in the park include

Himalayan monal pheasant and other high altitude birds. At 3352 to 3658 meters above sea level,

the gentle landscape of the Valley of Flowers National Park complements the rugged mountain

wilderness of Nanda Devi National Park to the east. Together, they encompass a unique transition

zone between the mountain ranges of the Zanskar and Great Himalaya.

 

Short Itinerary

Day 1: Haridwar to Joshimath 

Day 2: Drive Joshimath to Govindghat -Pulna and Trek to Ghangharia

Day 3: Ghangaria to Valley of Flower back to Ghangaria

Day 4: Ghangaria to Hemkund Sahib back to Ghangaria

Day 5: Ghangaria to Govindghat and drive to Joshimath

Day 6: Departure Day

Note: On Day 6, you’ll reach Haridwar between 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm. You can

book your travel any time after 8:00 pm.

 

Detailed Itinerary

 

Valley of flower trek & Hemkund Sahib

6 Days || 14,100 ft || Easy

 

DAY 01: HARIDWAR​/RISHIKESH-JOSHIMATH (6,151 FT)(DRIVE/287 KM) (8-9 HOURS)

1. Drive to Joshimath via Devprayag. On the way visit Devprayag where Bhagirathi and Alaknanda

rivers meet. The confluence makes it The Holy Ganges.

2. Arrival at Joshimath by evening, Joshimath: The religious centre, established by Adi

Shankaracharya, which he called Jyotirmath, later came to be known as Joshimath.

3. Near by temples one can visit are Nav Durga and Narsingh

 

DAY 02: JOSHIMATH - GOVINDGHAT/GHANGARIA (10,000 FT) (20 KM DRIVE/9 KMTREK) (3 TO 4 HOURS)

1. After an early breakfast drive to Govindghat. Which is the starting point of the trek

2. From Govindghat there is a gradual ascent along a well maintained pilgrim trail to Ghangaria.

3. Upon arrival at Ghangaria check into Camp. Explore The surroundings in the evening.

 

DAY 03: GHANGARIA TO VALLEY OF FLOWERS & BACK TO GHANGARIA (11,320 TO12,820 FT.) ( 8 KM TREK 4-5 HOURS)

1. Trek from Ghangaria to the Valley of Flowers

2. Mesmeric Valley of Flowers starts. Delight in the sight of green carpets being adorned by a

myriad of exotic flowers and flora. Arriving at the valley, gaze through its enchanting beauty and

romance the various colours of the nature

3. Spend amazing moments discovering the bright and appealing flowers in the valley

4. Back to Ghangria for overnight stay.

 

DAY 04: GHANGARIA (8,050 FT) – HEMKUND SAHIB GURUDWARA & LAKE (11,320 FT )(10 KM TREK 6 TO 7 HOURS)

1. Rise early to take a 7 kms trek to Hemkund Sahib. Hemkund Sahib is the most venerated Sikh

Shrines, and considered to be the World’s Highest Gurudwara at an altitude of 4,329 m.

2. 6 km Hemkund Trek (Each Way), heads to Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara & Lake

3. Start trekking back to Ghangria, Campsite and an overnight stay. ad Ghangria.

 

DAY 05: TREK FROM GHANGRIA (9,600 FT) TO GOVIND GHAT (6,300 FT). DRIVE TO

JOSHIMATH (6,150 FT) (5 HOURS, 12 KM TREK + 20 KM DRIVE)

1. Trek from Ghangria (9,600 ft) to Govind Ghat (6,300 ft). Drive to Joshimath (6,150 ft); 5 hours,

12 km trek + 20 km drive

 

DAY 06: DEPART FROM JOSHIMATH TO HARIDWAR

1. Depart from Joshimath. You will reach Haridwar between 6.00 pm and 7.00 pm.
